You must have heard a lot about cities situated under the ground. But today we are going to tell you about a city where the entire city lives under one roof. Police station, church, school, shop and post office, everything is present under one roof. People live like a family and everyone shares their belongings with each other. The lifestyle here is so wonderful that even you may feel sad after seeing it. But it is not easy for everyone to reach here.
We are talking about a small town situated in the forest of Alaska, which is also known as One Roof City. Because all the people living here live in the same building. There is only one building in this town, located 60 miles south of Anchorage, in which all 217 people of the community live. They call this building their city. This building has been named Begich Towers. The life style of these people is completely different. You cannot reach this place by car or train. To reach the city you have to go to the port. Will have to take a ferry from there. It originates from inside a scary tunnel, which remains closed overnight and opens at 5 in the morning.
A random fact about Whittier, is that it holds the title for the “City under one roof” in the Guinness World Records, thanks to its unique living arrangement in Begich Towers.
